Jan 2005 -Michelle and Jessica Harp are likely to release their debut album as 'The Wreckers' in the summer of 2005 in the US, and possibly in the UK too. Album tracks are yet unknown (except for Lay Me Down), but it is very country influenced, and was recorded in Nashville, TN.

Aug 30th -Michelle has confirmed plans to co-record a new album with Jessica Harp, featuring the track 'Lay me Down'. Recording is expected to start in September 2004 in New York, with producer John Leventhal.

Jan 16th -It now looks like there are no plans for Michelle to return to the UK 'for this record', meaning Hotel Paper. This was confirmed by Jeff in an email and could well mean no 2004 visits. However, all plans are subject to change, but it looks like Michelle is focussing on territories that have proven to be worthwhile (particulary as tours etc are funded by Maverick, rather than WEA).
However, Michelle was kind enough to answer some questions put to her by UK fans.

Dec 8th -Still no plans for a UK tour or release news. This will be updated as soon as there is any news, hopefully after the new year. Merry Christmas, fellow UK Meech fans.

Nov 17th -Breathe remix pack available in the UK, albeit as an import.

Sep 12th -According to WBR, Breathe has been put back till 'sometime next year'. I will check for more details in October or November.

Sep 10th -UK release dates for Breathe have been pushed back to October 8th. Michelle has just finished a France/Germany promo tour. The media link section on the messageboard has some clips from this tour.

August 24th - Hotel Paper spends 6 weeks in chart, down to 149.

August 22nd - HMV have 'Breathe' listed as Michelle's next UK single, released on September 22nd.

August 20th - According to provisional info from Warner, Michelle is in Europe from September 1 - 11 for promo but 'wont include the UK'. Also, UK tour dates have slipped to 'perhaps January 2004'. This is very provisional information, but the latest available from Warner.

August 17th - Hotel Paper slides to no. 138 in its 6th week.

August 10th - Hotel Paper spends its fifth week in the charts, at no. 115.

August 3rd - Hotel Paper drops down to 83.

August 1st - Michelle's manager, Jeff, confirms that plans to return to the UK in September are still in place, however they have nothing to do with either Santana or the Dixie Chicks being in the UK at the same time.

July 27th - Hotel Paper drops to 60 in the official album charts.

July 20th - Hotel Paper slips back to 47 in its second week, and Are You Happy Now disappears out of the official top 200 singles chart .

July 13th - Hotel Paper goes in at no. 35 in the official UK album charts, and the single 'Are You Happy Now' slips down to 65.

July 7th - Michelle's second UK album release 'Hotel Paper' gets a UK release.

July 6th - Michelle slips from the unofficial mid-week 19 to an official entry position of 31 with her new single 'Are You Happy Now'.

July 3rd - unofficial mid-week charts put Michelle's new single 'Are You Happy Now' inside the UK top 20. Can she climb to inside the top 15 by Sunday?

June 30th - Michelle's third UK single release 'Are You Happy Now' gets a UK release.

June 17th - Jeff Rabhan (Firm Management) has mentioned that himself and Michelle will be back in the UK in September, possibly for more promo ahead of fourth quarter 2003 UK tour dates.

June 15th - Michelle has just completed a promotional tour of the UK (June 8th-June 15th) including radio festivals and TV appearances, such as GMTV, RISE, TOTP, MTV etc. Most of these, if not recorded live, will air in the week of June 30th, when the new single 'Are You Happy Now' will be released.

June 8th - Michelle mentioned today at one of her gigs that her new single was due for release on June 30th in the UK. The album 'Hotel Paper' will be released July 7th.

June 3rd - GMTV has Michelle listed as a live guest for Thursday June 12th.

May 29 - Michelle Branch is listed as playing at Koko FM's SummerXS festival in Reading Rivermead, also on June 8th (2pm to 6pm). Tickets are £13.50.

May 28 - Hotel Paper has a stated release date of July 7th for 'Europe'. HMV are listing 'Are You Happy Now' as June 23rd.

May 23rd - a Portsmouth music festival (PowerFM / PITP) has announced Michelle as one of the acts. This is scheduled for the 8th June. More details at the PowerFM site. She is listed as being on at 2.18pm, will play two songs and be onstage for 8 minutes.

May 10th - Michelle is in the UK around mid June 2003 (6-17th) to do some promotion work. However, she will be back for actual UK tour dates in the fourth quarter 2003, according to her management, The Firm, LA.

May 8th - WEA Germany has Hotel Paper release date as July 7th, on contrast to the Maverick website.

May 7th - Maverick website has a release date of 23rd June 2003 for Hotel Paper outside of the US. I havent seen this date confirmed by any established distributor or retailer yet.

May 6th - first look at the european version of 'Hotel Paper' album cover from the WEA Germany website. You can find it in the mp3 section.

May 1st - Hotel Paper tracks leaked onto p2p networks. A number of mp3 tracks containing just 10-30 seconds each have flooded networks. However, the clips are genuine, just very short teasers.

April 22nd - Michelle confirmed 'Hotel Paper' as the title of the new album, and announced the US release date as June 24th. There are still no release or tour dates for the UK.

April 16th - Not only is 'Hotel Paper' rumoured to be the title of the new album, released stateside in June 2003, but its also supposed to be one of the best tracks, according to co-contributor Jessica Harp. See the provisional track listing. This will updated as more information is confirmed...

April 5th - Michellebranch.net have published provisional US tourdates for June 19th - August 4th 2003. No UK dates have yet been announced, as of April. It is expected to no earlier than late August-September.

March 10th - Michelle mentions June 10th as the US release date for her new, as yet untitled, album. No dates were given for the UK release.

February 19th - Michelle won "Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals" category, for "The Game of Love"

January 24th - MusicWeek lists Feb 17th as the release date for Michelle's next UK single 'Goodbye To You'. However, her manager denies this will happen due to studio commitments on the new album.

January 7th - Michelle gets two Grammy nominations, one for 'Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals' and one for 'Best New Artist'.

December 15th - Jeff, Michelle's manager has confirmed that Michelle will be performing with Santana at Santana's London Astoria concert on Monday 16th December.

December - Michelle's third album, as yet un-named, is rumoured for a US release in April 2003. Collaboration on the album will be Sheryl Crow, Dave Navarro and Scott Weiland. Producers are John Shanks and Greg Wells.
Released to complement it will be Michelle's DVD featuring concert footage and many other extras.

November 24th - 'Game of Love', featuring Michelle's vocals, slips back to no. 28.

November 17th - Santana's Game Of Love, featuring Michelle on lead vocals went straight into the number 16 slot in the BBC official singles charts.

November 4th - A live concert recording available on the net indicates that Michelle's first track off the new album is likely to be 'Are You Happy Now?'

October 30th - Goodbye to You scheduled to air on December 19th 2002 on BBC2, Buffy The Vampire Slayer. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the video in the media section.

November - Michelle Branch will resume recording her next album in November. She is currently working with John Shanks, who also worked on "The Spirit Room" and is looking to work with a few other producers, including Greg Wells (Rufus Wainwright).

October 5th - You can now order Santana's new album at amazon.co.uk on import. Michelle does the vocals on track 3, 'Game of Love'. If you haven't seen it yet, check out the video in the media section.

August 4th - After just one week inside the UK top 50 singles, 'All You Wanted' slips to number 56..

July 28th - Michelle's second UK single release, 'All You Wanted' enters the UK singles chart at number 33..

July 7th - Michelle made an appearance at the Princes Trust 'Party In The Park', in Hyde Park, central London on July 7th. For more dates, see 'Feel The Noise' in Sheffield, July 13th and 'Summer XS' in Dudley, July 14th. She is also confirmed for Leeds Party In The Park on the 14th too. May 12th - In it's 6th week in the UK charts, 'Everywhere' drops top 72.

May 5th - 'Everywhere' stays inside top 50, at 49, whilst 'Spirit Room' drops out of charts.

Apr 28th - 'The Spirit Room' drops to 70, whilst 'Everywhere' drops to 36.

Apr 21st - 'The Spirit Room' fails to go inside the Top50 albums in its first week, and 'Everywhere' drops 6 places to number 32.

Apr 15th - The Spirit Room released today. Available everywhere, now! What are you waiting for?

Apr 14th - Everywhere drops to no. 26 on its second week, according to BPI figures.

Apr 7th - Michelle's single 'Everywhere' debut's at no. 18 in her first week of release.

Mar 19th - Michelle rumoured to make TV appearances on GMTV (20/3), Liquid News (BBC Choice, 20/3), CD:UK (23/3), The Saturday Show (23/3) and Popworld (24/3). She's also, so far, been spotted on Nickelodeon (20/3) and Big Breakfast (21/3).

Mar 18th - it appears that Michelle's UK release dates have both been pushed back a week, according to the online ordering at both amazon.co.uk and hmv.co.uk. 'The Spirit Room' is now release April 15th and the single 'Everywhere' is now April 1st.

Mar 6th - new tracks added to the media section. Not available on 'Broken Bracelet' or 'Spirit Room', check out the media section for streaming versions of Fall, Hold My Heart, Standing On The Edge and 'My Own Worst Enemy'

Mar 1st - Michelle's UK release album Spirit Room (non-import) debuts at 72 in their sales rank. Not bad for a debut album still 1 month from release. Pre-order it now at amazon.co.uk.

Feb 25th - Amazon now have Michelle's CD single 'Everywhere' for pre-order. Get it from amazon.co.uk.

Feb 14th - WEA/London have released UK dates for Michelle's single 'Everywhere' (25th March) and album 'Spirit Room' (8th April). Apparently the UK release version has a bonus acoustic version not available on the US import CD.

Feb 3rd - Maverick have released dates for Michelle's additional UK promotional dates for March, following on from her January dates. See the dates section (updated 3/2)

Feb 2nd - Buffy clip online: Michelle's appearance on Sky's Buffy The Vampire Slayer can be seen in the media section in both dial-up (56k) and broadband (300k) formats. Look for a UK airing date of possibly Thursday February 21st

Nov 5th - 3 months after availability through amazon.co.uk, HMV is now carrying 'Spirit Room' in stock.

Aug 24th - Michelle Branch UK fansite goes wireless. WAP site launches for mobile phone surfers. See WAP intro page.

Aug 16th - Michelle's debut album 'Spirit Room' is now available in UK shops as an import.

Aug 9th - A recent rumour suggested that Maverick Records, Michelle's label, is relying heavily on stateside success of both Michelle and Alanis Morrisette's new albums to improve the companies financial footing. A stateside success for 'Spirit Room' could lead the way to decisions on UK, european or japanese promotion.

Aug 1st - At the moment, there is no UK release date for 'Spirit Room' although it can be bought on import at HMV or amazon.co.uk on August 16 2001.

July 26th - There are no announced UK tour dates for Michelle Branch at the moment, although it is likely she will make her first appearances as a supporting artist.
